I was so sad to heard the news about Russell. Such a kind and gentle man. I loved that little twinkle he always had in his eyes. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers throughout the days and weeks to come.

Dear Anne and family,

I was shocked to hear your phone message this morning as I left for church. It made me cry. God meant for us to have lunch and share that very special time together. It was very touching, and I feel your loss so deeply. I'm so glad my Dad had such a wonderful friend in Russell for over 50 years. He was a trusted friend to him in time of great need. I loved working at the South Plant with my Dad in the summers and will always remember how kind. gentle, ...

We wish to express our deepest sympathy in the death of Russell. I appreciate how nice you and Russell have been to my sister, Virginia, since Bill's death.

Our prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Anne, Peggy, Diane and Mary Ellen, and "the sons:"

Our hearts are right there with you at this sad time. There is great comfort in knowing that this is but a temporary separation. Had Uncle Rusty been watching over you during those last earthly hours, I'm sure he would have been so pleased with the way each one of you handled what had to seem like the worst moments you have ever lived.

What a gentle, special man. We will always remember his warm affection and...
