I´m an old friend of Cindy´s from San Rafael High School 1974 ish. Loved Cheri´s ginger-bread houses she made at Christmas. I know I´m a little late but god speed to your dad. Rich

Dear Cheri and family,
We are so sorry to learn (from Don Lazzarini) of Pep's passing. We are also sorry that we have not kept in touch, but want you to know that you have been (and continue to be) in our thoughts. We have a lot of fond and fun memories.

It's been a long, long time, Pep, since you arrived on board KTAR as the new President and General Manager. I was one of those on the Sales welcoming committee -- and I have been retired from channel 12 for 23years! I know that none of the current staff would remember me, but that is unimportant. I just want the family and crew to know that I share their grief and deep sense of loss.

Dear Cooney family:
Words seem hollow now; however, I am certain that Pep's presence will remain felt in your family and his extended media family in the Phoenix community for years to come. He was a distinguished man, a formidable businessman, and a gentle man.
I so enjoyed my work with him in the community, and the times I worked with the staff at Channel 12 while he was its general manager. He made an impact.
My prayers will include you.

"Pep"
He was a man of class. When I worked at KBBC/ KTAR Mr. Cooney took the time to show me a general manager can be a man of class, trust and a friend at the same time. Thanks to Mr. Cooneys family we had a chance to meet and work with the "Best of the Best.

My deepest sympathy to the Cooney family. As a long time resident of the valley, I always appreciated Mr. Cooney's 'editorials' even if at times I disagreed. The leadership he gave to channel 12, and his service to the community will have a lasting impact. May your faith keep you strong at this time and always.
God bless you all.
