It says something of a man that I feel the need to share that nine months after his passing he is sorely missed.. I had the great pleasure of working with him his last day and case on the bench. Oh yes and we miss his beautiful roses!

I had the opportunity to work with Judge Mize during his senior judge work in Gainesville. He was also so kind and pleasant to everyone in the courthouse. He will be missed. Barbara

Dear Mary, Tara, Renee and Family:
I only spent a short amount of time getting to know Vernon, but in that amount of time he left a lasting impression on me. The first time I met him he made me feel so comfortable in his presence, like we had known each other for years. I always enjoyed talking to him, he was always so interesting and full of life. He had the wisdom and accomplishments of what anyone could ever wish for in life and then some, and he loved sharing that with others. He...

I truly loved and respected Vernon. He was a friend, a mentor, a kind uncle, and a great example of a wonderful, caring and compassionate person. I will miss the time that I spent with him and wished I had spent more time with him or had the opportunity to tell him these thoughts and say farewell. Mary, The news about Vernon's untimely passing was devastating. Vernon was the kindest man I've ever known. He was like an old comfortable pair of shoes, always there to support and comfort you. I hope you find comfort in the knowledge that he impacted so many lives in such a positive way. I know he did mine.

When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. Vernon was a beautiful person. To all his family, I am sorry for your loss.

Mary, our hearts go out to you and the family. We thank God for the moment we shared with Judge Mize. He once came to our church and spoke to the youth. It is an unforgettable event. God bless and keep you. Love, John and Faye Henderson.
