I think of you and Aldon a great deal. I will never forget Alden bringing in the sheppard to the Block office on 62nd Ave S. Poor dog wanted to hide, yet those in the office thought it was a visious (sp) guard dog. What a wonderful man! But you know that. Please know that my heart is with you and hope you will know peace.

I came to the lab Monday after Noretta had given me the awful news. There was Alden's neatly handwritten slides staring me in the face. I was all alone since Noretta had the week off and I just burst out in tears. Some people are such an important yet unobtrusive part of the universe that you don't realize how essential thay are to the sense of the rightness and goodness of life in general. Alden was one of those rare people who hold the world upright and lessen its innate cruelty. But...

Ruth, Doug, Terri and Paul, We will always remember wonderful times spent with Alden, especially in the early years of our marriage and all the support and love he showed us. Lots of fun playing games and eating pea pods right out of the lovely garden. He was a true "southern gentleman". Love and sympathy to you all, Jeanne and Bob
