Dr C. Edward Smyth

Dr.Smyth (Ed) was a very instrumental person in my life as I was searching for my place in the Christian Education world. I babysat his & Ellen's 2 first- born children during my Freshman & Sophomore year at SPU, which gave me my first glimpse of a couple's life filled with love for each other & their shared life to reach out to college students seeking their own pathways to serve Jesus & each other. Ed was a mentor to me at Seattle Pacific University, and a great encouragement to me as I navigated college life. His witness for Jesus Christ and his example in his marriage were very powerful for me. Looking forward to seeing him again someday! Praying for the family. John (and Lori) Buechner

I know your sweetheart is joyful being in the presence of his Savior. We know this but it´s still hard being left behind. Service to others helps tremendously. It will be 3 years on May Day since Fred passed joyfully to heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Thank God for families!!
