Not sure what to say?

Think of you often and miss your friendship. I will propose a toast at this week's Fairfield Group golf outing and meeting at The Blind Brook Club which you hosted for many years. You are gone but not forgotten.

Rest in peace Alan. We all miss your smile and the twinkle in your eye.

Thank you very much to the entire MacDonald Clan for including all of us in your family service for Alan. There were many former Stouffer Foods/Nestle Foods associates from all over the country who shared the memorial service with your family last Saturday. Alan was such a special man to so many of us and it was great to understand what he meant to all of his family.

Jim Biggar and I watched the entire service, and he had so many nice thoughts about his lifetime with Alan. First...

I had the outstanding honor and privilege to serve for many years as a Director with Alan on the Board of H.J. Baker and Bros. - a 170 year young family business with a brilliant reputation in the agricultural field. His wisdom , caring and leadership was without parallel. He was an invaluable guide and support as we navigated our way through numerous control and operational challenges onto substantial growth and profitability. He was then and will remain always a personal hero to me.

Mark, Diane, and Mallory-Sending you deep condolences on the loss of your father. A lovely obituary honoring an impressive career, but cousin Alan’s love of family and friends is what endeared him to all of us. I wanted you three to know how much my mother, Ruth Anne Hendrickson Coffin, loved her first cousins, especially since she was an only child and lived together with the MacDonald clan during the Great Depression. She truly cherished Alan, as well as Honnie and Pete, and a favorite...

Alan was a great leader and his participation with all his employees was inspirational. I will miss his management style of work hard and play hard that was infectious to all whom he encountered. He helped to shape my career at Stouffer's and me a better person for it. Joe Gaeto, President and Owner, Sarah Jane Foods Corporation

Alan was one of the first Stouffer's Top Management that I met as a Management Trainee in 1969! I remember I was first impressed by his genuine warm welcome; his enthusiasm; and his charismatic personality! As I became more veteran and experienced, I was always grateful and impressed that he was always a positive motivator; interested in my input; and always personally interested and cared about my family and me!
I was very blessed to experience the OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP of C Alan...

My sincerest condolences for your loss. Alan was indeed a gentleman and a lovely person.

I worked as Administrative Assistant to Alan from 1972 until he transferred to Connecticut. I always said we were "the best team of two" Stouffers ever had. Several months ago, I came across his business card among my mementos of Stouffers and gave him a call. We spoke for a few minutes and he sounded exactly like the Alan I knew way back then. He was, and always will be, one of the most unforgettable people I've ever had the privilege to know.
Rest in peace Dear Alan
