Andrews Mortuary - Hampstead Chapel Obituary

Caleb Brent Woodard

Caleb Brent Woodard, 46, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center from heart failure with his mother and older brother by his side.

Caleb was born May 12, 1975 in Goldsboro, NC to Sarah Pelletier Woodard and the late James Henry “Big Boy” Woodard, Jr. Caleb was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, William Thomas Pelletier and Cara Hughes Pelletier, and paternal grandparents, James Henry “Slim” Woodard and Myrtle Beale Woodard.

Caleb enjoyed studying maps and traveling all over the United States, and was literally a walking GPS. He went on two cruises – 2008 and 2016. He loved listening to country music, attending concerts, and Southern black gospel. He loved the beach, the Appalachian Blue Ridge Mountains, and the Great Smokey Mountains, and looked forward to going every fall to Cherokee, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. All cats and dogs loved him, and he loved them. Caleb graduated from North Lenoir High School in 1996. He kept hundreds of CD’s and DVD’s in alphabetical order. He could name an excerpt of a song played on the radio, name the artist singing it, and everyone else that had ever recorded it.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 from Rouse Funeral Home. Visitation at 1:00 pm and services at 2:00 pm with Randy Herring officiating. Interment will be at the Evergreen Memorial Estates in Grifton, NC on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 11:00 am.

Mr. Woodard is survived by his mother, Sarah P. Woodard and an older brother James Henry “Jim” Woodard III, one niece “Holland” Brook Woodard, and one nephew James “Walker” Woodard, and a special first cousin, Doyle Anderson of the home in Hampstead, NC.

The family will receive friends at Rouse Funeral Home and at other times at the home in Hampstead.

Not sure what to say?

So sorry for your loss Sarah. Prayers for comfort in your time of grief. Love y’all

So sorry for your loss. He was a sweet person..I loved to see him at the pool and rocking in his chair. Prayers..

Such a sad news. I always enjoyed seeing his smiling face as he would swing away on his swing down at Roger's Bay campground. He would always wave when I walked by leaving me with a welcome feeling. So sorry for your loss.

Thoughts and Prayers to you Sarah!!!
