Not sure what to say?

I am completely devastated to hear of Cal's passing. I knew him from the Red Wings Training Camp up in Traverse City every year. He and I would save spots for our group and we became friends. My deepest sympathies to his family and especially Laurie who I also knew through camp. Camp wasn't the same this year without him. He will be deeply missed. Mary Leary

We extend our sympathy to you and your family Praying for you Jerry and Carol Berghorst

Cal And I knew each other as teenagers. We work together for a few years for tree land Farms. Recently, he visited my men´s Bible study, so I got a chance to catch up after so many years.

Remembering Chaplain Cal´s arrival at OCJ four years ago, and over the years, his responses in conversations were kind and encouraging. He continually pointed toward our Savior while working at OCJ. There is no doubt that Chaplain Cal´s entry to heaven is greeted with celebration. We are praying for Laurie, children and family as we join in grieving.

I first met Cal almost three years ago when my wife and I moved to Grand Rapids and I began working in the Ottowa County Jail as a volunteer with 'Reach The Forgotten.' Chaplain Cal was a very cheerful follower of Christ! My prayer is now for his family and all those that he was able to share the Gospel with.

Cal - I met you as a kid selling produce out of the back of a pick-up truck with your grandpa in our neighborhood. Later went to church with you and college briefly. You helped Liz and I move to Colorado. Through my rebellion and in obedience you were consistent telling me that Jesus is the answer. Well done Cal! I will see you there! Enjoy and rest well! Laurie and family, you have our sympathy. Cal filled pulpit supply for Coopersville Christian Reformed Church over the years and we appreciated that very much. We enjoyed hearing about his missions for the jail as well. Our prayers are with you, God Bless. From the Council and Congregation of Coopersville CRC

Cal I praise Jesus for the impact that you had on the incarcerated but also the Chaplains of RTF you will be missed but we know what 2 Corinthians 5:8 says Yes we are fully confident and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies for then we will be at home with the Lord

You are all in our thoughts and prayers. So sorry for your loss. Ken n Pat Sevensma Diekevers
