Not sure what to say?

To the Howell Family:

It is a tremendous shock to me to hear about Calvin's passing. My memories of him playing bass, lifting weights, playing football, running track and fishing are cherished. Our childhood in Omaha is remembered fondly. I have missed him over the years and will miss him even more now! My condolences and prayers are with the family.

Dear Diana,

It was a tremendous shock to me to hear that Calvin is no more and I am sure it is a big shock for you as well as your children. I just could not believe it. My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to you and your family. It was always such a joy to see the two of you together and the love you shared for each other when I moved to Reno in 2004. I feel good that I got to see him one last time when you visited Reno last summer. Calvin was such a source of inspiration and...

Having met Calvin in a chance encounter, I immediate realized that Calvin was an outstanding human being that I wanted on my team. This was several decades ago. It did not take long for Calvin to exceed even our highest expectation. Calvin was a straight up guy that set the bar for honesty and integrity. I have lost a friend and the Optical industry has lost a real professional. My deepest condolences to his family.

I had the good fortune of knowing Calvin through our optical band Offaxis. I was his drummer and friend. He inspired me to be a better musician, father, organizer and person all around. I spoke to him for a while just last Tuesday and am so sad I won't be playing with him again. I'lllook forward to a sweet jam together in the next life. My condolences to the family. He was a great man!!!

Dear Diane:My warmest condolences go out to you and your family during this time of sorrow. Calvin was truly a man of valor, wisdom and honor. His smile and humor will be missed by all he touched during his life. I will miss him. May God bless you and your family.

You will always live in our hearts and prayers.

Diane and Family, Calvin and I went back many years in the Optical Industry. Knowing him was truly a joy and knowing that he is no longer with us, we should celebrate his life and how he lived his life. He always had a great smile and a story. We are blessed to have had him in our lives and I know he loved his family. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Sincerely,
Audrey Reed, Dallas Texas

Diana and Family, I have know Calvin for close to 20 years and am so shocked to hear this sad news. What a true gentleman he was. We were typically competitors but I always looked forward to seeing him at the trade shows and spending a few minutes with him. Calvin was always upbeat and positive and just someone I loved to consider a friend.

My sincere sympathy goes out to you and your family and may Gods blessing and gentle hand comfort you in this time of need.

Calvin was an excellent business colleague, who I wish I had gotten the chance to know more on a personal level. Excellent musician, fantastic businessman and a trusted colleague. He will be missed.
