Not sure what to say?

I was a caretaker, and ultimately, a friend, of Cal’s and I’d love to connect with his family and share a few stories I think they may find comfort in. His love of music and dancing brought me so much joy. On his very worst day, he could be convinced that life was beautiful again as long as I’d let him sing to me and twirl me around the room. Love and Marriage was his favorite to sing and his love for Becky was always apparent. Many a sunset was watched with him by my side telling me his...

I was a caretaker, and ultimately, a friend, of Cal’s and I’d love to connect with his family and share a few stories I think they may find comfort in. His love of music and dancing brought me so much joy. Many a sunset was watched with him by my side telling me his thoughts on how beautiful the sky was that night. I was hoping to get back to Ohio last summer to stop in to say hello but I couldn’t find the time. A bittersweet reminder that sometimes you have to make the time. He will be so...

I’m not sure why it took this long to post. So many wonderful memories. We first met when I was in a car accident in the late ‘60’s and my boss at the time, Ray Shurtleff said his friend was an attorney. That started our friendship and Cal became part of our family. He became my big brother. So much we shared. My heart is breaking.

I stayed with Becky and Cal a long time ago.

Correction...I met him in 1960.

Wishing you a peaceful rest.

I met Mr. Hurd when he was my home room teacher at Collinwood High School beginning in 1966. From the day we met until his health began to fail, he was a teacher, a sounding board, a confidant, a trusted advisor, and one of my dearest and most cherished friends. I am deeply saddened by his passing and send my condolences to all who loved him.
