Calvin R. Librera Jr. 1949 - 2023 Springfield Calvin R. Librera Jr., 74 died Wednesday night surrounded by his loving family. Calvin was born in Springfield and lived in West Springfield most of his life before moving to Springfield 25 years ago. He worked as a Truck Driver for the US Mail and as Custodian at the former Immaculate Conception Church in West Springfield and retired from the ADS Company in Ludlow where he was a pipefitter. A proud veteran, Calvin served in the Army of the United States for 14 months in Vietnam. He leaves his wife of 52 years Kathleen A. (Turner) Librera; three children Calvin R. Librera III, Kristy Lindsey and her partner Craig Chapman, Courtney Librera and her partner Will Voight. He also leaves three sisters Debra Jewett, Margaret Ryan and Sharon Leblanc and four grandchildren Alyssa and Kayla Lindsey, Aubrey Chapman and Gianna Voight. He will also be missed by many brothers and sisters in law and nieces and nephews. Kenny Racicot was his lifelong friend. Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday starting at 12:30 and concluding with a funeral home service at 2:00pm.
