Candice Jewel (Waymire) Rominger, age 50 of Walton and formerly of Alexandria, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at her home surrounded by family after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born October 28, 1974 in Anderson, the daughter of Billy L. and Janeise K. (Habegger) Waymire. Candi was a 1993 graduate of Alexandria High School before attending Ball State University and later graduating with honors from Purdue University with a Masters Degree in Pharmacy. She worked as a Pharmacist for 27 years, starting her career at CVS Pharmacy in Alexandria and Dunkirk, and most recently at Walgreens Pharmacy in Peru where she was highly respected by her staff and co-workers. Candi married her soulmate, Brian Rominger, on October 9, 2004, and they shared over 20 years of marriage together raising a wonderful family. She was a faithful member of her husband’s church, Citadel of Faith Ministry in Kokomo where she enjoyed preaching occasionally and faithfully taught Sunday School.
Candi was a ray of sunshine everywhere she went. She would help anyone in need and truly cared about the needs of others. Despite her battle with cancer, she maintained a remarkable, upbeat attitude of good thoughts and faith in the Lord’s purpose for her life. Candi was especially passionate about reading all types of books including biblical studies with the M.B. Jefferson Bible College. She and Brian treasured spending time at their country home in Cass County where she enjoyed raising honeybees for many years.
In her younger years, Candi was involved in Madison County 4-H where she regularly entered projects; was formerly a Girl Scout; and enjoyed tap-dancing for many years. In recent years, she focused much of her efforts on outreach to new members at their church. Candi will be remembered as a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and Christian who’s legacy will live on in those around her. Her family is comforted by 2 Corinthians 5:8 – “to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord”.
Candi’s family includes her parents, Bill and Janeise Waymire of Alexandria; husband, Brian Rominger of Walton; 3 children, Mariyah Rominger, Larissa Rominger, and Miracle Rominger all of Walton; 4 siblings, Andrew (Colleen) Waymire of Noblesville, Jeremy (Jeni) Waymire of Anderson, Nicholas (Jessica) Waymire of Muncie, and Angel (Trentin) Temple of Alexandria; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Madea Rominger of Kokomo; 2 brothers-in-law, Richard Rominger, Jr. and Matthew Rominger; and several nieces and nephews. Candice was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charles and Vivian Waymire and maternal grandparents, Glen and June Habegger.
A funeral service celebrating Candice’s life and faith will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Bishop V. Durya Minor officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 pm prior to the funeral on Thursday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the services. Memorial contributions are suggested to Citadel of Faith Ministry through the funeral home. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
