Cara S. Maples

Cara S. (Purucker) Maples, age 27, of Jackson died Monday, May 10, 2010 at the University of Michigan Medical Center. Cara was born on December 27, 1982 in Marshall to William Purucker and Lisa Ayers. She had been a resident of the Lansing and Jackson areas the majority of her life. She was a graduate of Jackson County Western High School, class of 2000. Cara had been employed as an Orthopedic Tech at the Allegiance Health Care Hospital in Jackson. Prior employment included the Doctors Hospital. Cara was a very loving and caring person. Her children always came first before any of her own personal needs. She enjoyed going to the Garage Pool Hall to meet with her many friends and play a few games of pool. In keeping with her personal values of giving, she was a Gift of Life organ donor. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Maples; children, Haalie Aurora Maples, Tavin Dakota William Maples and Ema Lee Sue Maples all at home; mother, Lisa (Rex) Wilkes of Lansing; father, William (Deb) Purucker of Lansing; maternal grandparents, Leota Greathouse of Homer and Larry Ayers of Terre Haute, IN; paternal grandparents, Linda Thick of Marshall and Warren Purucker of Bellevue; and several great grandparents and step-grandparents; brothers, Joshua Ayers of Lansing, Stephen Rainey of Parma and Alex Rainey of Parma; 3 step siblings; and numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home in Marshall on Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. A memorial service to celebrate the gift of her life will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
