Not sure what to say?

Dr. Capell quite possibly saved my then 2-month old son´s life in 1992 at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC, by noticing an abnormality with his heart. He stayed after hours to arrange a consult with a pediatric cardiologist in a nearby hospital. Matthew had open heart surgery within a week and a half of Dr. Capell finding the abnormality and is now a healthy 33-year old. His was certainly a Life Well Lived. The family can be proud of him and his many accomplishments. May God Bless and comfort you.

What a remarkable career of service to others! Carey was involved in many leadership roles as a cadet at The Citadel. I was also commissioned in the Air Force upon graduating from The Citadel. Carey and I had Aerospace Studies classes together. He will be missed and remembered fondly. My heartfelt sympathy. David L. O'Brien, '71 Mars, PA.

My deepest sympathy for your loss. I am proud to have been a classmate of Carey's at Greenville Sr. High School, he was amazing as a teenager and lived up to his full potential. His life and achievements are to be celebrated. Stephanie Fantl

Carey was an exceptional man as well as an exceptional student at GHS (Class of 67) It is sad to see such a special person pass. I am sure he will be an awesome addition to heaven. Go with God Carey. We will meet again soon. To the family, I would say, you are in our prayers for comfort and peace.

Becky, Benny and I are so sad for you and your children. Nothing I say will ever help right now but we are praying for all of you.

I went to Greenville High with Carey, very sorry to hear of his death. Regards to his family. Ginger Moore Teed

Dear Becky, No person or experience will ever replace the happy days Carey spent taking care of Citadel Cadets at The Infirmary. I hope it will be of some comfort to know that you gave him all the love and care possible and that I share your sorrow.
