Carl was a lovely man and a wonderful artist. I first had the pleasure of meeting him when I served as director of the Frederick Arts Council. He submitted one of his pieces for a Frederick Magazine cover contest, which was selected as first runner up. We also held our annual dinner at Ceresville and each year he made a point to work that event. I was so very sad and shocked to hear of Carl's passing, he will be missed by so many. I was so fortunate to know him since Mr. Dore's art classes at BHS, and to have the opportunity to connect with him again along the way since moving back here from New England, and always happy to call him "friend".
