Please accept our sincere sympathies. Marty and I were unable to attend the wake or funeral as we were out of town. Marsy told us of Carl's death when we returned.
Marty will make sure Carl's friends at Marist know.

I met your husband about two years ago, when he was sent to help our troubled school. He had a remarkable impact on the school environment, but more than that, he had a remarkable impact on all those he interacted with. Yours is a great loss. Dear Sandy, Matt, Traci & Family,
There are no adequate words to express the sorrow we feel for your loss. Working with Carl was truly one of the high points of my teaching career at Clay School. He was always sure to bring a lighthearted, positive note to the workplace. I respected him a a fellow educator, administrator, and friend. I will always treasure the memories I hold in my heart from the times we worked together. You were all so lucky to love him as a husband, father or grandfather. He touched us all. To the Ceretto family - My thoughts and prayers go out to you on your loss. Mr. Ceretto was truly a great man. I am very thankful and grateful for having become friends with Mike and getting the chance to know his father. Whether it was teaching, coaching or leading within the community, he always did it with an upbeat attitude and with a smile on his face. The world lost a really great person in Mr. Ceretto, however, he did leave many fond, fun and loving memories behind. I knew that Mr. Ceretto was missing from the Monday night Alsip Board Meetings, but I failed to ask anyone why. When Diana McCoy called me to tell me of Mr. Ceretto's passing, I was truly shocked. I had reported on Alsip Board Meetings for many years and always saw Mr. Ceretto there. I always held him in high esteem. My condolences to the entire Ceretto family.

Sandy, Matt, Mike, and Jeff,
Since moving to Alsip 21 years ago, your family have always been kind and friendly neighbors to us. I remember playing with the boys some summers, and I always remember Carl having a smile and a hello for me and my parents. Even when I would only be home from college, if I was pulling into the driveway, he always waved "hello". My love and prayers are with you all, and may you be consoled by the wonderful memories Carl left through his jovial smiles and kind gestures.

Sandy and Family'
As my thoughts travel back through time, from 1959 until now--I think of all the people who have served the Village of Alsip and there have been hundreds who contributed to make it a fine place to live.
From Mayor Alsterda to Mayor Andrews, and all the trustees, and numerous employees; Carl ranked high on the list of dedicated people who without his service and dedication to all his indeavors we would have never florished as well. Dear Sandy, Matt, Michael & Jeff,
I remember Carl as "Coach." My son Dave had the privilege of being on Carl's basketball teams in the Alsip Park District. He was everything a coach should be. The kids felt as good about themselves after losing a game as when they won. This was because Carl gave them inspiration, respect and perspective. He was a sunny, funny man, who lives on in his wonderful sons. I am so sorry for your loss. God bless all of you.

When I think of wonderful families from my teaching time in Alsip, yours is one that always comes to mind. All of you had such a strong bond and it was so obvious the love you have for each other.
I am so sorry about the loss of Carl. All of you have been through so much and now your husband and Dad is at peace. Your Dad was always so kind to me and he was influential in making Prairie the fine school it is today after all his dedicated work on the school board.
