Not sure what to say?

Man Carl was my big brother. We met at GSS. He took me under his wing and made me feel so loved in a lonely place away from family. He told me he´s my big brother now and he´s gonna always take care of me. Without a doubt he truly stood on every word! Our bond was so beautiful. We´d talk on the phone all night until we fell asleep. I miss your energy I miss your jokes so much! I hate we never got a chance to hang out in person because of our distance. I will carry you in my heart forever big...

I can’t even find the words to describe this brotha. So many funny stories that I’m still livin on today. (If you was on dorm 10 with me , Carl , Curtis , Tyrone and JB you already know) lol But I met Carl when I was 15 years old in GSS.. (He was 16) He got there a couple months after I did, and we ended up on cottage 6 together, which was the CD dorm at the time. We pretty much spent the our whole time on the same dorms together until those folks on the hill made it their duty to split us...

Carl and i were on Cottage 8 @ GSS. We often talked cause we were both from Dallas. Carl was a quiet but smooth guy. i never met up with him once i got out. i seen Carl this Saturday in the Obituaries and was not able to make his funeral. My heart goes out to his family and friends. My the Lord be with him.

Me and Carl became real good friends mths ago n Giddings...we would stay up and have long conversations bout family, friends, and life...he was the quiet type at first but when he opened up to me i was like carl I never heard u say more then two words...but i always had open ears for my friend...One thing we promised each other is to remain friends to the end...I made this drive this morning because I dont break promise. I love U Carl and u will be missed by me deeply....Demetra Davis

Over the years at GSS, you meet many individuals. Some of these special young men earn a place in your heart. Carl was one such individual. He was one of "my boys" and I will always love him and remember him. You, as a family, have my deepest sympathy. May the Lord care for you in this time of grief. Love, Patti Hoffman.
