Carl Kay DavisAug. 3, 1948 - June 22, 2020 'Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming: "Wow…what a ride!!!"' To all of those who knew...

Not sure what to say?

I will always have great memories of Carl. Recently I viewed an email he sent me on 1/23/19. He was reminiscing of our shared childhood memories from grade school through high school. Carl remembered sleeping out in our back yards looking at and discussing stars and the mystery of outer space! Funny the things we always remember! Also, he commented that he and Gloria were getting ready and looking forward to travel to Hawaii for 3 weeks! I hope Carl´s family and sister Sue are all doing well....

Carl was my Uncle and the best Uncle anyone could have! He was a awesome example of a human being. I loved his stories and his enthusiasm for life. He will be greatly missed by our family and his passing leaves a huge hole in our lives.

Matt, I am so sorry to hear about Carl. I just heard about his passing.
He and I were old friends from DC. We were oldies Rock 'n Roll buds, and he went on some of my whitewater adventures with me.

Would you mind giving me a call at 6627215535?
Thx.

Carl always called me "coach". I taught him to racewalk, but he became a mentor to me as I navigated the footwear world to create a walking shoe brand. I'm so grateful for his time, patience, wisdom and encouragement. My life would be quite different without his influence on my life. He will be sorely missed.

I went to high school with Carl in Pocatello, ID. I always admired Carl's sense of humor and his strong sense of purpose. My husband and I met Carl at our 50th class reunion a few years ago and we enjoyed talking about vintage auto racing and wine making with Carl. We swapped stories and had a great time tasting some wine. We had hoped to visit Carl in Oregon this summer. My husband and I extend our sincerest condolences to his family.

Carl and I were related by marriage. His Father, Earl and My mother-in-law, Roselyn. Went to visit with Carl and Charlotte, always welcome. Matt and Lisa would come to visit with Grandpa Earl and I would make them Grilled Cheese sandwiches. What great people. Hope Matt and Lisa will reach out to me so I can keep in touch. Your family are in our thoughts and prayers, and know that your good memories will keep them close to you. Love, Aunt Linda from Pocatello, Idaho

My heart is just breaking for this family. Carl and Gloria were friends from our neighborhood in Broken Top. Gloria and I were exercise buddies and I loved her dearly. She blessed my life as did Carl. He was so kind hearted and compassionate and missed her so terribly. In sharing about her, he spoke so gently and tenderly and my heart went out to him. When my husband passed away a month ago, he so kindly reached out and I knew how much he understood grief and I was so touched by his...

My heartfelt condolences to all of Carl's family and friends. I first came to know Carl when he was a brand new DA and I was a brand new public defender. Although we were adversaries in the courtroom, we became friends.
I truly admired his dedication to his work as a DA and his fundamental sense of decency.

Carl was a funny guy, who always saw the absurd side of life's travails.

I was saddened to learn of his death and I will miss him.
