1942 - 2021 My dear friend and husband, Carl Steven Ebert, passed away on April 21, 2021. He took an early retirement twenty-one years ago from his high school chemistry teaching position at Villa Park High School in Orange County, California due to ever-increasing issues with Parkinson's...

Not sure what to say?

Mr. Ebert was my Science teacher at Cerro Villa Jr. High. He addressed us by our family names. It felt more formal and professional like we were already at University. His stories of traveling in Peru inspired me to travel there to see Machu Picchu. His class also fostered my love of Science and I earned my Doctorate in Medicine. I returned to visit him at Villa Park High to thank him. He told me of his Parkinson's then. He also mentioned he had returned to earn his PhD. I thank you, Dr....

"Mr. Ebert", as I knew him as a 7th and 9th grade student and TA at Cerro Villa Jr. High between 1978-81. He (and Wild Kingdom) inspired my lifelong love of science. I earned a Ph.D. in Neurobiology at Duke University, and have been a Computational Biologist throughout my career. I still remember the definition of photosynthesis that he taught me verbatim. Thank you so much sir, for giving so well of your gifts.

My science teacher at Cerro Villa in the early 80s. I remember that Mr. Ebert came across as very genuine in his vocation of teaching young minds about science. He was committed, and cared for his students and their achievements. Rest In Peace, Mr. Ebert. You touched thousands of lives and made the world a better place.

Mr. Ebert was one of my favorite teachers, and inspired my interest in all sciences. His musings about South America inspired me to travel extensively though out the continent in retirement. He was my home room and science teacher at Cerro Villa. My condolences to his wife and family.

I am heatbroken to hear about Steve. I was new to Villa Park at the time he was a few years away from retirement. I found him to be a wonderful colleague, and his Fishing Club was a tremendous experience for our students. They respected him, and really looked forward to their trips. When he retired, they were so disappointed that no one was willing to continue that tradition.

I was happy to hear that Steve enjoyed his retirement. May he rest in peace.
