Not sure what to say?

Dear Paul, Gretchen and family, my sincere sympathy at the passing of your dad. I got to know him better over the past two years as he had a joke to share every time we'd meet in the hallway or at the front desk where he and your mom resided. What a kind and gentle soul. He brought so much joy and laughter to those he came in contact with. He spoke of his family often with pride. Thoughts and prayers go out to you and yours.

Paul and family. Our sincere condolences to all of you at the passing of your dad, grandfather, etc. We so sorry we couldn't be there physically to support you as we were out of town. God bless you.

Well done good and faithful servant!
He has entered into the promised life given in baptism.
I can see Carl & my dad enjoying this new eternal reality
The Peace & Love of Christ be with all of you

Dear family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I knew pastor from his time spent preaching during a vacancy at St. John Luxemburg maybe 20 years ago. I smiled when I saw his picture, because he was such a joyful man with a great sense of humor. May you have peace knowing that he is at home with the Lord!

I worked as secretary in the Pastoral Care Department at St. Vincent Hospital. Pastor Ehrfurth was always friendly and kind to me--would take a few minutes to chat--even though he knew I was a Catholic. He always had an easy-going personality and a great smile. He has crossed my mind many times since I retired--a man who is not easy to forget. He set the bar for how non-Catholic clergy should treat and respect others who are not LCMS. I am sure he was on the express straight to Heaven. ...
