Carl F. Faust

I learned of Carl's passing through a fellow OPRFHS classmate and am very, very saddened.

Carl was an inspiration to all of us who attended school with him and countless others who knew and admired him only by reputation because of the courage and positive attitude he displayed throughout his life.

I am very glad I had the opportunity to see and visit with Carl during the 40 and 50 year reunions of the high school and that my wife, Marilee, had a chance to meet him.

DEAR FAUST FAMILY:
I WAS STUNNED TO LEARN OF THIS SWEET MAN'S PASSING. HE WAS ONE OF A KIND, A COURAGEOUS, CONTINUALLY OPTIMISTIC, LUMINOUS MAN, WHOSE ENDLESS BATTLE WITH PARALYSIS AND HIS ULTIMATE "VICTORY" WERE AN INSPIRATION TO THOSE WHO KNEW AND THEN ADMIRED HIM.
I CAN NEVER FORGET THAT FATEFUL SUMMER OF '53, AND THEN, IRONY OF IRONIES, THE "JUST A LITTLE TOO LATE" ARRIVAL OF THE SALK AND SABIN VACCINES.
