Carl: The Man Remembered, Thus NEVER Forgotten
Known for his quick smile, and a story for every occasion. Carl took life easy, which made for someone easy to be around. Carl's mind like a clear blue sky, had no boundaries. I don't know where Carl's spirit is, but I am pretty sure if he could send a message it would be, HAVE A GOOD TIME, ENJOY YOURSELF, LIFE IS WAY TOO SHORT.
A Philosopher Friend

Carl was a new friend. I found him intelligent, interesting, charming and witty. I will miss my new friend.

Pat Thompson, Hilton Head

I just heard the news this morning and I still can't believe it. Carl was always so high-spirited and full of vitality. Having him on our trivia team was an unfair advantage and he always kept us cracking up at his jokes and his stories, some of which were so amazing, I always wondered if he wasn't pulling my leg a little. He had so much wisdom and life experience, his avuncular advice and cheery outlook helped me when I was going through hard times. He would often call to check on me and...

I knew Carl for many, many years, first when he was a student during my early years in Savannah, when I taught at Armstrong, and then in the forty or so years since, as we moved in the same social circles.

He was an occasional guest at our local Mensa meetings and the Drinking Liberally Thursday political group; and a much more frequent guest at the Philo Cafe philosophical discussion group.

As a student I recognized that he was extremely well read. Over the years I...

Carl was a friend and a mentor in Psychology to me. We met through the Wednesday Philosophy group. Carl was always willing to give great advice and was always there to talk if I ever needed any help. Carl always told me to live life for each day as if it were the last, and thats exactly how he lived it.

Carol, Howard & Marty:
It's hard to express the wonderful times spent with you guys at the beach house and the throng of friends that always flowed through both day and night. Carl was always a great "big brother" and made sure everyone felt welcome and part of the family. I know he will be missed by all. He was a real mench.

Carl was an original, full of wonderful stories of his many adventures. We will miss him.

We knew Carl through our Sunday evening trivia games and the Thursday DL group. He was a great guy with a friendly handshake and broad smile for all. We loved to hear his many life stories. Looking for the positive at this sad time, one can truly say Carl lived life to the fullest. We will miss him.

Carl was a good person to have around, always with an interesting story, a positive thought, and a smile. I'm lucky to have known him.
