Carl Felton Gregory, Sr.
July 23, 1936 - April 1, 2013
Macon, GA- Carl Felton Gregory, Sr., age 76, passed away on Monday April 1st. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Lee Griffin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
Carl was born in Macon to Thomas Felton Gregory and Nancy Lee Herron Gregory. After proudly serving our nation as a United States Marine, he was a head foreman for over 20 years for Moisture Control and was a very hard worker who never took vacation or even missed a day of work. He was often heard saying, "If you are thirty minutes early to work, then you are late." He was a member of the Baptist faith, an accomplished artist as well as a collector of old bottles and glasses or any other type of antiques. The family stated that it is very appropriate that he died on April Fool's day because he was known for playing dead to trick whoever was the next person to walk in the room.
Mr. Gregory is survived by his mother, Nancy Crowe of Bolingbroke, five sons; Anthony Gregory (Melisa) of Massachusetts, Jeff Gregory (Susan) of Macon, Carl Gregory, Jr. (Dedra) of Stockton, Rome "Mutt" Gregory of Lakeland, and Jerry Gregory (Angie) of Byron, a daughter, Dorothy Angela Mathis of Gray, a borther, Michael Gregory (Barbara) of Macon and two sisters; Elaine Gregory of Lizella and Lucile Green (Joe) of Warner Robins as well as thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Taylor Bobo and a brother James Thomas Gregory.

Not sure what to say?

I did not know Carl's family, but worked with him in mid 70's when I worked at Moisture Control during summer months while in school. I admired his work ethics. He was focused and direct with you when you worked under his supervision. I also saw the kind gentleman he was. I am sorry for the family's loss.
