Some of my fondest memories of childhood were living just down the road from the Hardwicks farm. When I heard the haying tractors, i'd walk up and stand at the edge of the field and watch. Sonny would stop and let me climb up on the John Deere and ride around the field a few times. No words spoken. I like to think that he knew I was having about as much of a thrill as a small boy possibly could, and it would be a lasting memory.
