Not sure what to say?

Dear Wanda, Carla and the Hauber Family,

I am so sorry to hear of "Uncle" Carl's passing. I have fond childhood memories of visiting in Elmhurst and playing with the machine guns stationed in the foyer. He is certainly an example of someone who lead a full life.

Carl was a unique individual, a hero and a true gentleman. As we say in the Artillery, "End of Mission, Stand Easy!"

Ubique!

Wanda, Carla and all of the Hauber Family,

We were so sorry to hear of your loss. Carl definitely left a big impression on everyone who knew him. Please know that the thoughts and prayers of many are with you at this difficult time.

I came to know Carl in the early 1970's when he took the position as our Air Force Reserve Unit Commander at Chicago O'Hare. Carl commanded our unit with professionalism, wisdom and fairness. It did not take long for Carl to gain the respect of all of us in the Communications Flight for his leadership capabilities and professionalism. His example as our commander carried our unit well past his leaving for his next assignment at Scott Air Force Base.

After our respective Air Force...

We at the O'Hare Alumni Association send our deepest regrets to the Hauber family. Carl was a respected and much-loved Commander and we will keep him in our memories forever.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
