Carl Irving

I am a distant cousin of Carl's. My mother, Herta Hofmann Guttman was in touch with him in the 1980s, and I met him in San Francisco in the early 1990s. I have come upon letters Carl's father Hans in the early C20th written by his cousins, Dora and Ella Iranyi and their father, Bernhard Iranyi (né Israel), who was Hans Israel's uncle. Carl was my second cousin on his father's side. We were good friends though we did not get to see each other often since we lived on opposite coasts. He was a delightful and talented man. I am so sad to find out that he is no longer with us.
