I first met Carl when I was a 17 year old Junior at PUYALLUP High School. He was the voice of the Vikings. Carl absolutely loved being part of the sports community in East Pierce County as a high school football radio announcer! During my tenure as the Puyallup Herald Sports Editor from 2007 through 2014, I shared the press box at Sparks Stadium with Carl and Ron Crowe on many Friday nights. Carl was the epitome of a hometown hero. He will be missed immensely.

Mr.Lambert was my teacher in high school. I really enjoyed his class. My thoughts and prayers to his family.
