Not sure what to say?

I never met Carl's family, although I often heard him talk about his daughters, and grandchildren; he always mentioned them. I met Carl about fourteen years ago when he started coming to hear Djug Django (a "Gypsy Swing" band) at Moosewood in Ithaca about the same time that I did. Over the years, I saw him many times at Djug Django events, but I'm sorry to say that I hadn't been going for a while, and did not hear the news of his passing until now. He was a very friendly and sweet gentleman,...

I'm sorry for the loss to the family. Over half a century ago I was Carl's paper boy when he and his young family lived on the corner of Country Club Road in Endwell. I got in many conversations with him, and would stop by Ruby's to say hello. He asked me if I would be interested in babysitting their infant daughter, which I did several times which allowed Carl and his wife to go out to dinner. Great memories of a wonderful man.

Endicott will certainly miss one of its longtime Community Ambassadors and business man.Always smiling and cordial.Thank you Carl for always being a gentleman and respect for people .Thank you on behalf of so many both past and present.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Rochelle - a special prayer going out to you and your family for the loss of your father - I talked to him a number of times on the avenue and again over in Endwell store - I remember one time in Endwell when I was in the store you had to run out for a minute and your dad was there he said go ahead I can handle it . I stayed around while you where gone and just talked about old days on the Avenue . He was someone real special - he will be missed by all

To Carl's Daughters,

My husband, grandchildren and I had the pleasure of meeting Carl in September 2012 at Spruce Row. He came right over to our camp site, which was right across the street from ours, and introduced himself. It was an instant friendship from then on. Summers of 2013 and 2014 we spent 6 weeks at Spruce Row, right across the street from Carl. He spent many campfires with us, he accompanied us to many concerts and other events through out the summer. He loved our...

Rochelle & Family,

I am so sorry that your father has passed. He was such a special person and will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Carl and the store were such a special part of the Avenue for many years. Thoughts and Prayers go out to your entire family.

I knew carl and his family very well. i'm so sorry for your loss. he was very nice and nice talking with him about anything in jewelry. Endicott lost a very nice jewelry store when they closed. may the angels take good caer of him and he will be a guardian angel for the family. Barbara Bowker
