Carl Patrick Murphy

I was thinking of Carl and his family and found his obituary. He was a very important person at a formative part of my young adult life. I thought of Carl often and what he would do in my life choices. I lost track of him when he moved away from Minnesota. I have always regretted that. Rick Nolan

Shortly after I joined St. Pius I became active with St. Vincent de Paul where I met Carl. Carl enlisted me to help with a ministry he was quite fond of and once a week I would help him take sack lunches to shut ins downtown. These were mainly people with physical and mental ailments resolved to living in one room apartments in some of the dreariest of Portland's buildings.
