Not sure what to say?

Dear Janaan,

My profound sympathies on the death of Carl. I am sure that he will find in death the same fulfillment that he found in life. Your marriage and friendship was an inspiration for your neighbors and friends. When I visit my mother, I glance at your house half thinking to see Carl. Our love & prayers to you and your family.

Dear Janaan,
This afternoon (7/28/07) I was thinking of you and Carl. I checked out news items on the internet and discovered Carl's obituary. Carl must have beamed me in. Please accept my prayers and condolences.

Dear Janaan,
On behalf of NCEA (National Catholic Educational Association)and especially the Department of Religious Education, I offer our deepest condolences to you on the death of Carl. Having been away from the offfice when the sad news first broke, I missed the earliest opportunity to send greetings. You and Carl wrote for us often and so well: The Family Piece and other resources that still nourish a new generation of catechists. Thank you. I pray that you find comfort and...

My sincerest sympathy, Janaan. I heard the news while I was away on vacation so I hope you understand that this is a bit late. I DO KEEP YOU AND FAMILY in my prayers. My love and prayers, Nila Meyerhofer,OSF.

Dear Janaan,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family! I met you and Carl at several workshops that you gave for the diocese of Des Moines. Both of you have had such a huge impact on the catechetical world. I am grateful for all that I have learned from you and Carl. My deepest sympathies to you.

Janaan and family, I am keeping you all in my prayers as your morn and celebrate Carl's life. Carl enriched my life and ministry in so many ways.
Peace,
Don Kurre

Dear Janaan,
I have been out of town for two weeks going to school and I just saw the notice about Carl.
Please know of my love and support during this time of sorrow.
You and Carl taught me so much and I have thought of both of you often. Working with both of you on "Getting Ready for Sunday!" was a transforming experience.
You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dearest Janaan and family, My sincere sympathy and prayers. I have been associated with Silver Burdett and Ginn for some twenty-seven years, I have read many of Carl's books, I used his book in teacher training sessions in St. Louis, I participated in many catechetical meetings and lectures given by Carl. What an outstanding man. Meeting Jesus face to face must be the greatest wonder for Carl...my prayers are with you all. Dotty

Dear, DEAR Janaan: Here's a big hug for you! So many days, afternoons and evenings by Carl's side. Now that stretch of your watch is over. Makes you look back and realize that the burden was never truly a burden but a privilege!

Janaan, my heart goes out to you. I was out of town -- in Buffalo, NY, at the 10th National Black Catholic Congress -- from July 11 to 14th. Even saw the magnificent Niagara Falls for the first time, husband Andre in tow! Didn't hear of your loss until I called...
