Not sure what to say?

It is 2:00 in the A.M. in the Pacific Northwest and for some reason? Mr. Richard Pond's name came to mind so I Googled his name and here I am. I graduated from K.U. in 1968 in Art Education but not before I student taught at Westport High under his tutelage. The art dept. had only paper ends from Hallmark, some shellac, and some ink to work with but somehow we managed and it was a real life experience for me. I watched, learned, helped some. and grew as a future teacher as he magically...

My name is Amanda and Dick Pond was my great uncle. Unfortunately I did not get the chance to know him but I have heard stories of him from my dad, his nephew. I would love to see any pics of him performing, dancing, or any of his paintings. My email is [email protected], thank you in advance.

I loved Dick Pond. He was my art teacher in the 70´s at Westport. He gave me a parrot named Mendel that I had for many years. I´ll never forget all the beautiful birds he had in his apartment west of the Plaza. It´s 2023 now so this is a late but heartfelt remembrance. Rest in Peace Mr. Pond

Mr. Pond! Throughout the years I've always mentioned how Mr. Pond was instrumental in my development as an artist and especially how I use to skip his class! But I did not just go anywhere, I'd go the the Nelson Art Gallery! Once I ran into the class on a field trip at the Nelson, Mr. Pond just smiled and said, "You might as well join us!" His support and guidence led me to attend the Kansas City Art Institute! He is and will always have a sacred place in my life and Heart and work!

He taught me 3D Graphics in Westport. Later became my very close friend, who has always been there for me.

Mr. Pond taught my older brother and sister, when I first met him he says OH WOW,ANOTHER MCCORMICK,lol,I'm sorry this is coming late sir,but you was a very well liked teacher, and I'm glad to be part of long line of mccormicks you taught....R.I.P. SIR.

I will always miss him.

It was a pleasure knowing Dick Pond, the amazing and very talented high school student in Trenton many-many years ago. As well as visiting with him in KC over these many years. Maybe he can teach the angels a few new dance steps.

What a wonderful and generous person!
