Not sure what to say?

Linton Renfroe, Carls brother, married my dad Donald Dooling's sister Isabel. We lived in Naugatuck CT and my current home was built next door to my parents' home. We spent a lot of time visiting Isabel and Linton and they were both wonderful people. I never got to meet Carl or his children but I would have loved to have known them. I send my belated condolences to Carl's family and friends. He sure looked a lot like my Uncle Linton. Sending peace and love to all the Renfroes out there. ...

Dear Renfroe Family,
I am sorry to hear about the death of Carl Renfroe. Oh, how we all look forward to the time when death will be no more and neither mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore because all these things will have passed away. May your family receive comfort during your time of bereavement

Dr. Renfroe was superintendent when my husband and I came to Decatur City Schools in1970. Even after his retirement in 1975 he continued to be a respected presence in Decatur. Those who loved and admired him will greatly miss him, but we celebrate a life well lived. God's grace and peace to all his loving family.

Anne,

I am so sorry to hear of your father's death. My prayers are with you and your family.

My memories of Decatur High School in the early 1970's reflect the stories shared in your obituary of Dr. Renfroe.

I would hear of troubles that friends from various high schools in the area were having regarding race relations and I recall that Decatur was relatively free of racial tension. I'm glad Dr. Renfroe was given due credit for helping to blaze that path.

My prayers are with his family.

What sadness filled my heart as I heard of Dr. Renfroe's passing. As a student at Decatur High, I was priviledged to know him. I always found him to be so pleasant and encouraging when I was struggling to get through school. What a great man; what a great loss.

We both knew and admired Dr. Renfroe and appreciate all their contributions to our community and schools. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Dr. Renfroe was a kind gentle person. His impact will always be remembered.
