Not sure what to say?

My association with the Rettenmeyer family goes back to 1959 when I joined The Napier Co. of Meriden, CT. Carl's father, Frederick, was Vice President and Design Manager for this company. Carl was a "chip off the old block" in his kindness and creativity!!!!! We send our sincere condolences to Marian and all the Rettenmeyer family.

To me, Uncle Carl will always be remembered for his kindness and warmth.
I appreciate his sincere passion for Army Ants and the drive to learn and share all he knew about their place in the world. I feel very proud to be his neice. What a wonderful journey he and my Aunt had through life together.

I met Dr. Rettenmeyer in 1975 as an undergraduate student at UCONN. He stands out as the most memorable professor or teacher that I have ever had. His enthusiasm for his profession and his love for his work was evidenced by the impact he made on me and my subsequent appreciation of the world of Social Insects. My sincere condolences to his family, the world of science, and to the students who will never be able to experience his gifts of teaching.

Sincerest condolences to the Rettenmeyer clan. I feel fortunate that, as a childhood friend of Ron's, I got to spend some time with Mr. Rettenmeyer over the years. My entire family wishes you comfort during this trying time.
