It was truly a kick I the gut to find out about Carl's passing. He was a wonderful commander and a "stand up" friend who had his people's back. I have known Carl since 1982 and his presence in my life made me a better man. God Bless, Guy T Compton

I first met Carl in 1986 at Fort Riley KS, he encouraged me to peruse my dream of becoming a Green Beret, five years later he would become my first Company Commander when I arrived to 10th Special Forces Group. An outstanding leader, Soldier, and always the Professional. You will be missed by ALL, until we meet again in Valhalla rest easy my friend.
