Not sure what to say?

What a lovely obituary. Beautifully written. I remember Carl from the 1970s, but mainly his children Jon, Barbara and Judy, who were high school friends in Annandale, Va., before they moved back to California. I lived just outside of the cul de sac, at 4927 Tarheel Way. This must have been when their dad was working at the Pentagon. I would like to get in touch with Barbara again. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Debbie Ransone Newbold. Please contact me at [email protected]

This is a truly beautiful obituary for a beautiful human being. I remember your Dad as a secondary dad to me. I just wish I could have been with you during this most trying time. Love you all, Julie

Dear Great Aunt Lucille and the Rosene Clan,

I have very found memeories of visiting you all in your home back in the early 80's. It was my first time to sleep in my own guest room. A really big deal for a teenager of a big family and bigger extended family. I always had a sense that your family was great extension of ours, the Robert Rosenes, and we that were all one big Rosene family. I saw many times, while I was living in Baton Rouge, the affection that Grandpa held for his...

Ohhhhh! I'm so sorry to hear of Carl's passing - he was an awsome person & a great influence on many lives. I know his family will sorely miss him. Love to you all!

Carl was a standout Coast Guard officer as well as a wonderful human being. Because of his work ethic and professionalism, he inspired others to be the best that they could be. I have the utmost respect, admiration and gratitude for Carl. It was a privilege to work for him and to have him for a friend. Knowing him, he will be up in heaven rooting like hell for the Giants and 49ers.
Respectfully,
Jim and Amy Costello

Carl, thank you for allowing our family to become a part of your family -- we will cherish the wonderful memories of the many Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at Barb's home. Your spirit will endure through your wonderful children and grandchildren. Love always, Kimbra, Tom, and Tayler

I first met Carl in 1960 when I was assigned from OCS to the Captain of the Port Office in San Francisco. He was a terrific superior officer and friend to both Sheila and me and was very helpful when I decided to leave the Coast Guard and join the FBI. May he rest in peace and our deepest sympathy to Lucille and the rest of the Rosene family. Bob and Sheila Gast, Reno NV

Captain Rosene was my Executive Officer at Captain of the Port San Francisco just about 50 years ago. I remember clearly going to him to ask permission to get married. He gave it. We will celebrate our 50th in Honolulu on June 11, 2010. He was a great man and a great officer. s/Paul Egner, Houston TX

I will always have great memories of visiting with Carl and his family, and attending baseball and football games together. He will always stand out as one of the great Coast Guard Officers and was a great mentor to me in my Coast Guard career. He was a great father, grandfather and to us just a great friend. I will miss calling and talking to him and visiting with him and Lucille when in California. Our sympathy to the Rosene family.
