Not sure what to say?

Mr. Schnoor was my music teacher at Chapman and absolutely instrumental in my lifelong love of music. He was so encouraging and generous, he let my friend and I play the piano during lunchtime, let me borrow all sorts of instruments to try out, and built a fantastic music program. I still remember some of the songs he taught us. What a treasure he was!

Carl and I were close friends when we each attended Beaumont Grade School and remained friends as he trotted off to Benson while I attended Grant. After serving as a Navy Corpman, then completing my education at Oregon State and Indiana, I returned to Oregon and met up with him again, then in our respective travels, we lost each other again. Rest in peace, my friend. You led a very complete life and I'm happy top have shared part of it with you.

My association with Carl (and Nedra) was through the Am. Orff-Sculwerk Association. I have many fond memories of Carl's musicianship in years of workshops, classes, in Memphis, and with Konnie Saliba, et al. Neddy, pls contact me as I'm living in Portland. I'll try to leave contact info with German Am. Assoc. and the Mandolin Society.

Dear Kisa, Darrin, Nedra et al, I´m so sorry to hear about Carl´s death. He did have an extraordinary life. Sending big hugs and love to all of you.

My friendship with Carl started over twenty five years ago, when he would open his swim pool up to the kids in the neighborhood, including our two children. Watching kids play in the pool was almost a daily summer activity that we would share with Carl. Later, it was such a pleasure to quaff beers and talk about family and politics. His love of classical music instilled in me an appreciation that will last forever. Thank you, Carl, for enriching my life. RIP.

What a great life Carl had. He was a wonderful music teacher and loving father and grandfather.

I am so sorry for your loss. We always loved when Carl would sub at Irvington because he was so kind to all of our children. He was an amazing and creative music teacher. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I met Carl when he played mandola in the Oregon Mandolin Orchestra. He readily shared his wealth of knowledge about music and Portland. He was a valued contributor and will be missed.
