The 86 year old marine passed peacefully into the night on February 2, 2018, surrounded by his loving wife, sons and pup. He proudly served his country in Korea as a lieutenant and returned to marry the only girl he ever loved, Patricia Savage (Schwartz). The self-proclaimed "greatest panty hose...

Not sure what to say?

The Miller family on Miller Court(next door 1964-66, John and Mary Lou) were privileged to have known Carl and Patsy when we all lived on Miller Court! By chance today I(John) put Carl's name in a search effort to find that wonderful couple. I was so saddened to see the notice of his death. Knowing the goodness of Carl and Patsy, I assume they had a wonderful life as they were the perfect couple, and equally fine individuals! My deepest sympathy to Patsy and her boys.

I am just learning of Carl's death. I should have put it all together but life just kept picking up speed.

I'm sad to know that Carl is no long among his loved ones. It's comforting to know that he is a very special memory for all who loved and enjoyed is company.

He and my late husband worked together for a lot of years. I know you are all being acutely aware of his absence as the holidays roll around.

Carl was a special person.

Dear Patsy, David, Allen, Janet, Lewis, Carla and other family members,

I just located Carl's obituary. It brought back some nice past memories

.Like Bryan Gartner, Randy, Janet, John and Edward Snively, were nearby neighbors of Carl's and Patsy's. All of us were often together at the Gartners' Labor Day picnics. Those were nice times for all of the neighbors.

You may or may not know that Lois Gartner passed away on May 19, 2018. She had been living at Beacon...

Dear Patsy, Rebel and family,
I just heard about Carl. I am so sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed seeing Carl when our paths would cross in the neighborhood or in downtown Glen Ellyn. As a long time fixture in the neighborhood, he will be missed by many of us. My sincere condolences.

I also wanted to pass along my condolences to the Schwartz family. I lived next door to the Schwartz's from 1965-1972, as a child. Carl (always Mr. Schwartz, to me) was a great role model; friendly, good-humored, and encouraging to all the neighborhood kids. One of my childhood highlights was his umpiring and providing the lighting for our "night baseball game", circa 1967. His wit and charm were always appreciated at our annual Labor Day picnics. So sorry to hear of his passing.

Such southern charm and grace. Such fond memories of our summers in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Carl is fondly remembered and will be greatly missed. Sincere condolences to Patsy and the entire Schwartz family. Love, Lisa Hough Ryba

He was one of my best friends, I loved that guy, funny, smart, classy and just one of the best. My wife Crystal, Carl, Patsy and myself shared so many memories, and he definitely was the best sales person I ever met, Love always

Patsy and family,

My parents, Bill and Ginny Nixon were quite close in the 60s when we lived in Glen Ellyn. My dad and h is great friend "Schwartzy" as my dad called him played golf quite regularly at The Village Links in Glen Ellyn for years. Fond memories for sure. My sincere condolences to Patsy and the whole Schwartz family.

Janet and Bill Robinson lived two houses from him and Patsy in New Smyrna Beach. We always liked talking to Carl and hearing his stories about his great memories. We enjoyed going to dinner with him and Patsy and our neighbors. We are still visiting Patsy and are always sure to give Rebel (pet dog) her dog food treat. God bless Carl and Patsy. Our sincere regards to his family.
