Not sure what to say?

At East Carolina University Donnie Searcy was always a kind and caring individual. Donnie took up a collection from all the guys on the fifth floor of our dorm to give the janitor a Christmas present. When Donnie's grandfather passed away, the guys on the fifth floor took up a collection to send flowers for the funeral. I remember Donnie was deeply moved by the kindness of his dorm brothers. I really appreciated Donnie and really miss him.

As an insurance agent representing RLI Surety for over 25 years, Don called on me regularly, and we became good friends. Many times we had lunch together during his visits and would discuss college football. Don loved the Georgia Bulldogs and I love the Tennessee Vols so we had some interesting discussions over the years. Don and I were both conservatives so we are from the same political persuasion. I remember Don had dogs that he kept at a dog day care facility during the day and had an app...

I am sorry to hear of Don's passing. I knew Don from East Carolina University dormitory days. He was a good faithful friend always.

I learned of Don's passing today (4/1). I was a roommate of Don's at East Carolina. About a month ago we had reached each other and was planning a football reunion. Don was Doc to me and I am saddened by the loss. We talked several times the last month and maybe the Lord was responsible for bringing us back together. Don may have been a Dawg but he was first a Pirate. Every time I passed the Valdese exit sign I though of him. My deepest sympathies are with his family.

To The Searcy Family, I Worked At Western Surety Co. When Don Was The, I Only Got to to Him A Couple Days a Year at The Annual Meetings, He Was always The Life of The Party, & The First One You Looked for when You Got There, GOD BE WITH HIM

We will miss Don's visits in our office. He always had a way of brightening even the cloudiest of days. We share many years of memories. I was just a child in my fathers office when I met Don. That was over 26 years ago. He met me as a child and for many years we had talks about my own child. That is a precious memory for me. He always asked about the family and he really cared about the answer. I will miss him terribly and hope to see him again in glory with the Lord. Roxanne &...

I am so sad to learn of Don's passing. I called Don on Wednesday or Thursday to tell him I would be coming to visit on Saturday. He sent word that he could not talk right then. He would call me back.....
Don and I have been work friends for more than 30 years. He was my friend and mentor. We shared many life changes, many fun times and lots of laughter. We worked both at Western Surety and RLI , as Sales Executives. There were endless stories and just so many great times. I will...
