Not sure what to say?

I already miss Carl. Today was beautiful and I wished he was riding, after three years of friendship I just learned we share the same birthday. I will miss his jokes and doing crosswords with him. I will miss his gentle soul and kindness. I love knowing that he enjoyed the time he had, entirely. What a good and mysterious friend to have, Carl "Difficult"

I knew Carl in high school, and although I have not seen him in years, I am shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. I had always hoped we would cross paths again sometime so I could hear about all he's been up to since he left PA. He was a nice guy then, and I'm glad to read about what a nice guy he stayed throughout his life. I'm very sorry for the loss to all of his friends and family. Special people like Carl never really leave us completely, but rather leave an imprint on our lives...

I miss Carl terribly. He was a super nice guy and a good friend. My son Andy and Carl were good friends also. We will miss our bike rides with Carl and our "Soup Sundays" when Andy and Carl would whip up their latest soup creations. The Heights will not be the same with...

There was something special about Carl. As the days have passed we have learned one story after another of things this remarkable man did for others....nothing expected in return. He made a difference in so many lives, touched so many people through random acts of kindness. I am so proud to have had him as my friend, as part of my family.

I find myself staring at my favorite photo of you, sitting amongst the bluebonnets in your biking attire with a flower between your teeth like Ferdinand the Bull. It captures your gentle, kind spirit and the joy that you took in sharing simple things along the trail with friends. It breaks my heart to know that I will never see your beautiful smile or share the trail with you again. You were such a blessing to me.

I am going to miss you man! Carl, my friend, mon Ami, it was a real pleasure to have you as a friend for the passed 5 years.
I lost great person, very smart with a sharp sens of humor. He was always there for you if you needed to. "Ce sont toujours les meilleurs qui s'en vont"
It's always the best ones who go first

Carl always treated me, and everyone else, like an old friend. He was a good guy, with a big smile and a bigger heart. He was smart, funny, kind and so full of life. He will not be forgotten. Ride on, my friend.

I, too, will miss Carl dearly... already do. What a personality.
There will not be another person like Carl. I've lost a friend - and I'll
never be able to see a bike or ride one
without thinking of Carl. I am sure he is improving the bike paths in heaven as we speak.

I am going to miss Carl dearly. He was a good friend and confidant. I loved him very much.
