Not sure what to say?

Doris,
We worked together at Notre Dame in the early 80s, and as a young faculty member I often enjoyed dinner in your home on South St. I have thought of Chip so often in the past decades, and was privileged to have him as a colleague.
On a whim I decided to look him up today, and was shocked to learn of his passing. Undoubtedly he taught all around him many lessons through these trials. My thoughts and prayers are with you,

Laura Klugherz

Doris and Family, I just heard today about Chip's passing. I have been off work due to a broken arm and ask a fellow R.N. about him today. I am so very sorry. I truly enjoyed being his nurse and getting to know you and his family. He was so proud of his family. Such a kind and gentle man, he said "thank you" a gazillion times a day! Please take care of yourself and family, I'm sure the Lord was waiting for this wonderful man.

Clara and family,
So sorry to hear of your father's passing. He has been on our sanctuary choir prayer list for some time. I pray comfort for you and your family during this difficult time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Chip was an amazingly gifted and talented conductor for me and my fellow Notre Dame Chorale members. He will never be forgotten - his love and devotion to teaching and guidance was unmatched. Best wishes to you during this time. Cindy, Drew, Derek, Alex ('91) Dowgiallo

With every note I read from and about Chip, I grew in strength. His walk through his disease was educational and inspirational, and it truly touched me and my family. At last he can rest knowing that he had such an impact on so many throughout his glorious life of leadership. Our thoughts are with him and the entire family today and always

Dear Doris, Clara, Michael, and Martin,

Our hearts ache heavy for you in the home going of your husband and father. Chip was a wonderful man and I always enjoyed my conversations with him. May the strength and comfort of our Triune God surround and sustain each and all of you.

Love in Christ,

Grace and Tom Schwanda

His smile and boyish love for life will be remembered by so many. Chip, I will see you on the other side!

My family grew up in the neighborhood in Greensboro with the Stams. Chip was always so fun and cute to be around as a child. It sounds as though his adukt life was full of wonderful moments also. On behalf of Isabel M Rollins and family , I want to express our deepest sympathy to all of his family.
