Carl H. Susemihl

Carl was a true inspiration to my life. He was my first flight instructor back in 1977 and a true friend. Although, at that time I questioned his judgment by allowing me to solo with less than 4 hrs of instruction!! All things turned out and I eventually flew for UAL as a 747-400 pilot, so he must have done something right. We'll miss you Carl. And although we only knew you briefly, your years of wisdom, true love of flying, and warm friendly personality were obvious trademarks of this outstanding human being. May God bless you, your family, and your friends.

Although I only knew you for a short time, you were an inspiration to me with your courage, faith and patience in a dire time. I will never forget you and that gracious smile. Happy trails through the sky and clouds.

A man I loved dearly. He kept me on reliable "wheels" for over ten years. He kept my wife Marian and four children mobilr while I served in Viet Nam. A true and faithful friend!

Carl was one of my first flight instructors and truly an inspiration. I cherish the moments when I could listen to him talk of all the birds he'd flown and the missions he'd completed. Carl was one of those rare people in life who not only was a profound,positve influence on the people in his life; but a joy to be around. I found myself absolutely entranced listening to
his stories of teaching Lindbergh to fly P-39's in WW-II, iced up B-24's accross the North Atlantic and
struggling to clear the Himalaya's
while establishing the "hump" routes. Carl, I will miss your keen
wit and the ever present sparkle in
your eyes when you speak of the gift of flying. ...
