Not sure what to say?

Just learned of the passing of our cousin Carl. Lars and I moved to Georgia in 1974, and we lost touch with your family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Lois Guenther Helland

I met Carl 2 yrs ago. I heard he was the go to guy to have a motor built , so that's where I went. I spent many Saturdays at the shop going over what I wanted for my Hot Rod. I gave him the block and he created what I call " The Tower Of Power". It was amazeing sitting there with him .He would figure it all out in is mind and tell you what would work and what wouldn't. It saddens me that this has happened. I looked forward to the day that I would drive my 31 Hotrod to Markesan with his Tower...

I am so sad! I just found out about Carl ! Carl was top shelf ! My prayers go out to the family ! Rip Carl

Carl you will be missed. Its been 40 years since our last time out. Carl, Gus, Tim, and I went to Kaukauna race one afternoon. The gentleman that won the race on the podium, told about needing a engine for the race, and how Carl pulled a dusty piece of plastic off an engine and said try this one. He installed it and won the race. You never saw a bigger smile. Other great times at a small clay track in Hales Corners in your 55. Thanks for letting me hang out.

I met Carl back in 1980, I spent many days cleaning engine parts, going from the race track with my dad to Wegner Motorsports to freshen engine and have Carl get us back to the track the next night. Carl always helped the racer that didn't have a lot of money but worked hard was passionate about racing and had grease under your finger nails. Carl has put his horsepower in every racecar that has had the Reffner name on it. I'm forever grateful for his help with my son's racing. I have so many...

Jane, Casey and Amanda. It is still so hard to grasp that Carl is gone. Carl was one of the smartest engine/idea guys I ever knew. A man of few words, a real racer, who let the results speak for himself. Carls innovations and ideas made me win a lot of races and when he got that look in his eyes there was something good coming! Carl was a Great friend to our whole family, John, Andrea, John Hunter, papa Joe, myself, and he really like keeping my mom Martha on her toes with his fun...

My condolences to your family Casey. We only met once but your fine disposition and character I would bet reflects your father. My sincerest thoughts.
