Carla Gierke

Carla was a joy! I loved her laugh, and her being so down to earth and comparing notes on life. I learned a lot of German from her! Privileged to have gone on the first Kurt Huber Gymnasium and MHS German Exchange trip with her. Precious lifetime memories for sure, and because we were almost neighbors we talked about horses and dogs and those were just about her favorite topics besides her children and grandchildren. Great Lady! Deepest Sympathies to her family and friends.

I also remember an amazing geology field trip to the Yukon Territories with Professor and Mrs. Laudon. Carla and I took the long way home by way of southern California!

Carla and I had a delightful time in summer school biology in 1964. Our teacher was Paul duVair and he was a really great teacher! Attached is a photo of most of our class studying hard (or hardly!).
