Not sure what to say?

I also first met Carlene at LHS as a teacher and the AFS advisor. Our lives crossed paths many times. There was church, then through my mom & the Smith (Alumni) Club plus my parents (Nan & Garry Hough) were active members of the Chirp & Burp Society with Jim and Carlene. We may not have kept in touch directly over the years, but memories of Carlene always make me smile -- she was a kind and caring woman.

I lived next door to Carlene for eight years (up until very recently) and she was always such a sweet lady. She used to bring my grandmother candies and baked goods every holiday season. I remember thinking what a wonderful person she must be to have that much energy and life in her to still be out and about in the community and playing tennis!

Dana, I am so sorry I couldn't make it to the service - I was just made aware of Carlene's passing late this afternoon. I wish you and your...

Dana...my sincerest condolences to you and your family for the loss of your mom, Carlene. I knew her growing up as Mrs. Littlefield and she and my mom ruled the roost in our little corner of the street. We lost my mom last January. Two strong, kind, very capable women who will be missed.

I had no idea how much more your mom had accomplished after I had graduated and gone on my way. I know she will be missed. God bless you all.

Carlene, or Mrs. Littlefield as I knew her, lives on in my memory. She was my kind and thoughtful AFS advisor during my year as an exchange student 1970-1971 at Longmeadow High School. She helped make it a very special experience for me and I am always grateful to her for that. I lived in Longmeadow with a loving and caring family, had wonderful teachers, made lifelong friends and I met my husband Chip during that year.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
May God's blessings and...

Carlene skated with us in Enfield for many years. She was such a nice lady. Thoughts and prayers to her entire family during this difficult time.

Dana, I am sorry for your loss. Your mom was a trail blazer & way ahead of her time. She clearly embraced every aspect of her amazingly successful life! You hung the moon for her too, may this new journey give her peace. xo CA

Dear Dana,
I knew your mother when I taught at Longmeadow High School where I talked often with her. She was a loyal friend and sent me holiday greetings for many years. I was always struck by her high energy and positive outlook together with her professional commitment and integrity. A delightful personality, she contributed enormously to both the students and the community. Please take comfort in knowing that she will be remembered fondly.
