Not sure what to say?

I always enjoyed visiting with Carlos and his family at LA Cabana de Caleta in Acapulco and in San Antonio

Always enjoyed exchanging beer-tales over beers with Carlos at industry events. Most memorable was having a busload of industry executives at my Denver home during the GABF. After saying goodbye as the bus left I returned to my house to start the clean-up. There was Carlos and his brother enjoying their beers. Carlos replied, "Mel, your bar is too comfortable. We couldn't leave." Such was his personality that Carlos never met a stranger. Carlos Alverez, I miss you friend. Prosit!

Sending heartfelt condolences to Carlos' family on behalf of WorldOregon as a grateful member council - and fellow Board member - of the World Affairs Councils of America.

I will miss our chats at La Cabana de Caleta restaurant in Acapulco . Discussing Shiner and many other things

Never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Alvarez but I admired him at a distance. Having grown up near Shiner, I was aware of his successful efforts to save the Shiner Brewery. He was an astute businessman and, it sounds like, a good human being. My sympathy to the family.

My Sympathy and condolences to Malu and the Alvarez family... I was with Carlos in the Late 70's While working for former Monfrey Distributing as the "Import Brand Manager", When Carlos brought the idea to our company to Introduce Corona in the clear Long Neck bottle, it was a brilliant idea on his Part.. He was very much a leader. God Bless. Jack Leyva

It was always a pleasure to dine each year with Carlos and Malu at Trinity University´s President´s dinner. Carlos was enormously successful but always humble, a great storyteller and extremely personable. We have lost a truly great man...

I met Carlos and Malu in Tahiti. We struck up a conversation in the swimming pool on Oceania Cruise ship. We were trading stories and he and Malu told me that they came from Mexico with the Beer business. I thought to myself, Mexico, beer business. I asked the question, would you happen to know Carlos Alvarez. Malu laughed and said that would be him! I told them my daughter and Son-in-law lived in Shiner Texas. That was in 2009. It was a great introduction to Carlos and Malu. Wonderful...
