Kent and I were classmates at Duke from 1966-70, but I only got to know him a bit better when we both were interns and residents in Pediatrics at the Massachusetts General Hospital (1970-72). Kent was a remarkably knowledgeable and trustworthy colleague; one was always happy to know that he would be picking up your patients (and fixing your mistakes) at the end of a night on call.
