So many memories of Dr Castro! Smiles, questions, and teaching! I had many hours with him in surgery. He taught me about procedures and patience! I will never forget our 6 pm emergencies!! My sympathies to his family, he will be missed in life and the healthcare field! Thankyou Dr Castro for taking care of so many people!

Dear Eloise, Jason ,Carla and family, I was so sad to hear about your Dad´s passing. What a full life he had even with you and Jacque getting into mischief as kids. Wonderful parent and role model to all.

Dr.Castro I´m so heartbroken to hear you passed away. I was a unit secretary on the 4th floor at Albany Memorial Hospital. Everyone loved you. You always had a smile on your face and always made a point to stop by the nurses station and say hello to me and ask how I was doing. You were a wonderful doctor full compassion to all your patients. You were a great teacher to all the nurses when you were doing a procedure in a patient´s room. I was so blessed to have known you for the past 30 yrs....

I was so sad to hear of Dr. Castro's passing. He saved my life in 2012 and I will never forget his dedication and kindness. My deepest condolences to his wife, family and friends.

He made me the nurse I am today. Everything he taught, he taught with the biggest heart, and the greatest care. He was so incredibly loving and kind to every patient and every nurse. A couple years ago I had the pleasure of caring for him and telling him that he was my most favorite Doctor of all time. Just 4 weeks ago I ran...

I worked with Dr. Castro for over 30 years, he was finny, thoughtful, kind, and compassionate as a physician and a friend, he will be very missed

I first had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Castro back in 2011. He was and always will be my favorite surgeon I have ever worked with. I remember when I was a new graduate nurse he would say I was a "Great Nurse" referring to the GN on my badge and when I passed my boards and received my RN he said "well now you´re just a regular nurse!" His sense of humor, morning coffee conversations and daily newspaper word jumble I have missed for years since I left Albany Memorial ICU but I still carry my...
