Not sure what to say?

I have often wondered what happened to you. I'll never forget that first year you and Lt. Col Renfro started the MCROTC Program at NBHS. You and the Colonel changed my life, and I never got a chance to thank you. When I came by NBHS to meet some of my old HS teachers you and the Colonel had long since retired and had moved on. Thanks for those years of change and giving this guy a point to head for in his life.

Then a SSgt. Carlos was my Senior Drill Instructor at PARRIS ISLAND SC.in1969. He influenced my life which was filled with ups and downs by teaching me that when I may down to stand up brush myself off and continue on.His influence assisted me all my life...from Vietnam through my law enforcement career. I tried to utilize what I learned from him and raised my son as a Marine and a Law Enforcement Officer. I continue to keep in touch with members of Platoon 1028 and our conversations...

Marine, father, husband and most importranly friend to many. First has shaped the lives of so many, including my own. He believed in me when others my not have. For that I will be eternially grateful. The lessions he passed on to me I am now sharing with my children and others. He still live on with those he touched with his guideance and wisdom. HE WILL BE MISSED GREATLY. When he passed on, a part of him died in me. I will try to live up to his standards and ideals and pass them on. The way...

With a heavy heart and much sarrow I send my condolences to the Faris Family. Carlos is still a positive influance in my life. I think of him often since my days in JROTC.
2 Cor 1: 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of comfort.
I know God will bring comfort to your Family during this difficult time, but know that you are loved and are in the prayers of many at this time.

I met 1stSgt when I was a shy 14 year old sophmore entering high school. Now, 20 years later I still think of him and how he helped to shape the path of my life. Due to his influence I joined the Marines and did so many things I never knew that I could. He taught discipline, integrity and self-confidence. He may have passed on, but his legacy will live on forever in all of the lives that he touched. Semper Fi!

1st Sgt. Farias had such a positive influence on all of the students he touched. I truly enjoyed our talks both when I was still in school as well as after graduation when I would occationally visit, I am just sorry that it wasn't more often. Those of us who saw him every day for drill and class enjoyed his sense of humor and consistancy. He had very high expectations of us because he believed we could do more than many of us thought we could do ourselves. We all remember him fondly and we...

1st Sgt. was and always will be an extraordinary man. His firm discipline yet kind and loving heart shaped so many of our young lives as we grew. He demanded respect and it was well deserved! This man will live on in so many that he touched, and can never be replaced. Our wonderful memories of him will be stories we will share with our children and grandchildren. With much love and gratitude to Carlos, and to his wife who behind every great man is a beautiful woman.

1st was and will always be a great man. He tought me to stick with things and to get right back up when I fell. He is an insperation to us all. Sleep long and well friend we will see you again one day.

He had a great influence on me as his student. His love for life and fun were contagious and I always looked forward to his classes as well as all of the trips we made.
