Carlos N. Juarez
November 18, 1973 - February 21, 2016
Carlos N. Juarez, 42, died suddenly on February 21, 2016. Adored by many, he was a son, brother, an uncle, and a friend. He loved his family, but most of all his 12 nieces and nephews. A caring person, he inspired people to stay positive and work through obstacles. Carlos enjoyed comedy: the State, Saturday Night Live, and Monte Python were among his favorites. His laugh could make anyone smile and could be heard miles away. His smile would light up any room. Carlos' most favorite pastime was playing poker. A shy person by nature, he came alive at the poker table. He was his most charismatic self while contemplating his next card move. He will be missed beyond words. He is in a better place. No doubt he is just beyond the pearly gates, playing poker with saints and angels. He was born in Philadelphia on November 18, 1973 and grew up in Huntingdon Valley. He attended St. Albert the Great Elementary School in Huntingdon Valley before moving to Rydal, Pa. as a teenager. He graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School ('92) in Philadelphia, Pa. and attended Temple University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism ('98). He spent more than 20 years in the news industry and most recently worked as a copy editor for the Bucks County Courier Times. He is preceded in death by his brother Carlos Rolando Juarez. He is survived by his parents Dr. Rolando Juarez and Maria Angeles Juarez, siblings Luis Alfonso Juarez (Maria Dolores Juarez), Nena Juarez, Rolando Juarez, Eduardo Juarez (Amy Juarez), Santiago Juarez (Lisa Juarez), and Miriam Enriquez McDivitt (Rob McDivitt). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Christina Juarez, Jack Juarez, David Juarez, Isabella Juarez, Maria Juarez, Andrew Juarez, James Juarez, Mila McDivitt, Ana McDivitt, Ela McDivitt, Itzel Juarez, and Eugenio Juarez. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. He will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers please consider contributing to a memorial fund at www.gofundme.com/carlosjuarez. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday evening from 6PM to 8PM and Thursday morning at 9 AM in St. Hilary of Poitiers Church, 920 Susquehanna Rd, Rydal, Pa. His Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday morning 10 AM. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, 2556 Susquehanna Rd, Roslyn, Pa. Not sure what to say?

His laugh always made me smile. I do understand he has been called for more important things, however he will never leave our hearts and will always remain close to home, this I know. Peace to the Juarez family.

Always in our prayers and hearts.

Carlos set next to me on the news desk at The Intelligencer for a long time, and I am a better man for knowing him. He was always quick with a joke, always up for a sports debate, and always wearing that great smile. I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed. - Rich Pietras

I'm so sorry to hear about Carlos' passing. He was such a funny and charismatic guy and I'll always remember the good times we shared. I'm thankful I had the opportunity to know him. Thoughts and prayers to the entire Juarez family.

Very sadden to hear the news about Carlos, he was just a great person. R.I.P. my friend..

Doc, Maria and family,

I cannot express my grief and sorrow for your loss. You are such a beautiful family and while I only met Carlos a few times, I could see what a wonderful, caring person he was. May God bless you with fond memories of a wonderful life cut too short.

Very sad news. Worked with Carlos for years and always fun. Always had a word about mutual friends or sports, especially Archbishop Ryan sports. My condolences to the family.

Longo,
What a loss. I have been trying to wrap my head around the idea of you not being here anymore. I have been flooded with 40 years of memories. Some of my fondest when you were little: riding the big wheel, riding your bike and of course flying down the steps on your belly after a bath. You would being laughing hysterically. You were my negotiator and debater. You taught me patience and always kept me on my toes. Watching you grow up into this amazing man has been a gift. Our...
