On Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, Carlos Wayne 'Ben' Smith of Manassas, 32, died at Potomac Hospital. He is survived by his mother, Beverly Jean Hicks, and his stepfather, Charles of Manassas; his father, Claris Wayne Smith; and stepmother, Doris of Fayetteville, W.Va.; his maternal grandmother, Ann McLeod of Spotsylvania; and paternal grandparents, Robert and Delphia Smith of Fayetteville, W.Va.; his sisters, Melanie Griffin of Spotsylvania and Sonya Smith of Manassas; his stepsister, April Mosher of Parrish, N.Y.; his brother, Robert Kundo of Stafford; and stepbrother, Robert E. LeFrancois of Fayetteville, W.Va.; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday Jan. 30, at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City, VA 22193, where funeral services will take place Friday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Stafford Memorial Park. Hey Uncle Ben,
It's been awhile since I've written. I'm sorry about that. I've just been busy lately.
I live in GA now and I really love it. It's really nice down here - it's never too cold and I dunno, I really like the difference between crowded Manassas and the town I live in now. It's different, but I really like it.
I have a job now too! I'm lucky because Travis' mom got me the job, or found it for me. I'm on office girl now. Funny though right? Me behind a desk? It's nice...

Hey Ben it has been a long time since i have wrote in this book but i just want you to know that i think of you often and miss you.just so you know i didnt forget Happy Birthday!Sonya called me yesterday wanting me to come see you with her but i am unable to go anywhere as to i am about to have surgery on my knee so it is hard for me to get around then i will be laid up for 3 months to recover. just know that you are missed everyday!
